WBTET Registration / Application Form



Government of West Bengal conducts West Bengal Teachers Eligibility Test (WB TET) formerly known as West Bengal TET, as per the formalities laid down by the central regulating authorities for the candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary and upper primary schools in the state of West Bengal.

Eligibility to attempt the exam:-

Candidate must be between 18 to 40 years of age.

For I to V –

Candidates should have passed in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks. Those appearing for final year Diploma in Elementary Education/ Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)/ Diploma in Education in Special Education is also eligible or Candidates with BA / B.Sc. with at least 50 percent marks and B.Ed qualification can also apply.

For VI to VIII –

Applicants having B.A. / B.Sc and those appearing in final 2 year D.Ed. / B.A. /B.Sc. with at least 45 percent marks and passed / appearing in B.Ed / Senior Secondary with at least 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in final 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B.Ed. (Special Education) with 50 percent in BA or B.Sc are eligible for WBSSC TET.

WBTET 2014 Application Procedure and Registration:

The brochures, forms & blank admit cards for WBTET 2014 will be available at 847 post offices all over the state of  West Bengal. Kindly refer to the following websites namely www.westbengalssc.com or www.wbsschelpdesk.com for list of post offices where forms & brochures shall be available for TET applicants. The last date of filling application form for TET is 8 th February, 2014 upto 5 PM at the respective post offices.

Please note that only graduate pass teachers for Class V to VIII will be selected through TET as per the selection procedure.

Application fee:-

Application fee for WBTET 2014 is as follows

• General and OBC candidates: Rs 250/-
•  SC/ST and PH candidates: Rs 80/-
